A Modern Religion
for Rational People

These are some of the tenets that I propose for this new religion:

• Is based on reality (material and spiritual)

• Embraces science (including evolution)

• Applies reason to understand the world and ourselves

• Champions human progress and the enjoyment of this life

• Appreciates scholarship and in-depth exploration of various topics

• Is not afraid to follow truth, beauty, and goodness wherever they may lead

• Is open minded, willing to experiment, and always ready to learn

• Recognizes each individual human being as unique child of God

• Respects the free will and self-determination of all persons regarding how they choose to live their lives

• Condemns the use of coercion or deception (force or fraud) as a means to achieve personal or societal ends

• Teaches and embodies the love of God for all people (the children of God, our brothers and sisters)

• Encourages people to serve one another even as God serves us all
